What is the temperature in Belize and what should I bring?

Belize is hot in the summer : 75-89 degrees fahrenheit. However, the areas surrounding the city of Belmopan tend to be cooler due to its higher terrain and lush rain forest.

We advise you to bring the following:

  • cool cotton/linen attire (t-shirts, cargo shorts, tanks)
  • light wind breaker or rain jacket for the occasional sprinkle.
  • sturdy sneakers or hiking boots
  • flip flops for the shower and pool area
  • sunscreen
  • insect repellent

(As questions arise, we will keep adding to this list, so do check back)

What music equipment should I bring?

  • Your instrument of course!
  • A portable travel music stand
  • Suzuki music book, and any other music needed
  • Clothes pins or clips to keep your music from blowing off your stand in the wind
  • A pair of Khaki shorts or skirt to wear with your BSSI T-shirts for the final concert.

COVID-19 related questions

  1. What procedures and systems are being taken to keep camp safe? Whilst we cannot promise a 100% COVID-free environment, we are being diligent in making sure measures are taken to prevent any spread. Please adhere to Belize's COVID-19 protocols by downloading the health app and follow the guidelines prior to traveling. click HERE for details.
  2. Will mask wearing be necessary at camp? YES. While campers are operating outdoors practicing and are keeping physically distanced, they will not have to wear masks. We are determined to keep our enrollment numbers small, forming a bubble where only campers and their families will be housed at the property for the duration of the stay. Whilst in doors as in restrooms and other enclosed meeting rooms, mask wearing will be required.
